Vehicle Crashes Into Happy Burrito In Bennett, Flees The Scene

BENNETT, Colo. (CBS4) - Adams County authorities are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a restaurant and then fled the scene.

According to Capt. Caleb Conner with Bennett Fire Protection District, at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday a person drove through the front door of Happy Burrito. The driver somehow backed out of the building and fled the area.

A passerby witnessed the crash and called 911. The fire department is located a few blocks away but the vehicle was gone when fire authorities arrived.

The front of the restaurant sustained heavy damage but the rest of the building seems to be intact. The restaurant, located at 695 Palmer Avenue, was closed Wednesday for structural inspection.

It doesn't appear anything was taken from the restaurant.
