Update: Deputy Impersonator Is Process Server

DENVER (CBS4) - It turns out the man investigators thought was impersonating a Larimer County deputy is really a process server, managing service of due process.

He went to a home in Loveland this weekend wearing a badge and looking for the homeowner's family member. When the woman called police to check on the status of the investigation, they did not know who she was referring to. He was believed to be an impostor.

Investigators said the man did not exceed his authority or pretend to be law enforcement.
