U.S. 40 Back Open Between Soda Creek And El Rancho After Sinkhole Repaired

EVERGREEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Highway 40 is open again Wednesday after crews repaired a sinkhole late Tuesday.

The Colorado Department of Transportation says a rusty culvert gave way around noon Tuesday, opening the 8-foot hole.

The highway was closed between Soda Creek and El Rancho while the culvert was replaced and the road was repaired.

Spring runoff was partially to blame.
