Truck Falls Off Westbound I-70

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) – A truck driver was able to walk away with minor injuries after his semi fell off westbound Interstate 70 in Golden on Thursday evening.

Road crews spent several hours cleaning up the mess after the truck fell from the interstate onto Golden Road below.

According to the Colorado State Patrol the truck was traveling westbound at approximately 5:30 p.m. when the driver said his brakes overheated and he lost control of them.

The driver went onto a median to avoid hitting any of the slowing traffic on the highway and the truck fell between the overpasses onto the road below.

No one was on the road below when it happened, and no one else was injured.

The driver was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
