Traffic Delayed After Suspect Jumps From Bridge In Police Pursuit

DENVER (CBS4) - Traffic was stalled Monday morning after police stopped a suspect vehicle on Interstate 70 following a pursuit.

It began when shots were fired in the Capitol Hill neighborhood before 5 a.m. The vehicle involved was then spotted at 22nd Street and Tremont Place, and officers started their pursuit.

The chase ended on eastbound I-70 at Brighton Boulevard, where police used a PIT Maneuver. The suspect jumped from the highway but was taken into custody with serious injuries.

Traffic was delayed on eastbound I-70, but lanes fully reopened by 6:15 a.m.
