Traffic Camera Captures Magnificent Snowy Owl

DENVER (CBS4) - A traffic camera in Montreal, Canada was staring at an empty snow-covered road when suddenly a Snowy Owl swooped into the frame.

Spectacular images of the owl are now making the rounds across social media thanks to Montreal's Minister of Transport, Robert Poeti, who posted the photos to Facebook and Twitter.

The bird, a symbol of Canada, was likely flying up to perch above the camera.

The snowy owl is appropriately named for its white with dark brown feathering, and cold climate preferences. Their range can extend into Colorado when wintering.
