Traffic Alert: Multiple Crashes Slow Westbound I-70

DENVER (CBS4) - Traffic on Interstate 70 near Quebec Street began to pile up Monday morning around 5:30 a.m.

A semi-truck crashed into the guardrail causing it to blow a tire and the gas tank to rupture. About 35 gallons of fuel spilled onto the road, and another 200 gallons must be off loaded.

Two lanes of westbound I-70 are shut down, and one lane of eastbound is closed. Drivers are advised that delays could take up to three hours.

Another accident occurred on westbound I-70 at Central Park Boulevard, where a car hit some of the debris from the truck.
