Tracks In Snow Help Police Nab Car Theft Suspect

MORRISON, Colo. (CBS4) - The recent snowfall in the Denver metro area helped police track down a suspected car thief on Tuesday.

Morrison police spotted an abandoned vehicle near Highway 285 and Parmalee Gulch Road.

Jefferson County deputies responded to help and eventually captured a man suspected of ripping off a car in Douglas County.

Officers saw the car abandoned and followed footprints in the snow to find the criminal.

Douglas County investigators say that car might have been left running at a 7 Eleven on Highway 85 near the Highlands Ranch Town Center.

Police haven't released the name of the suspect.
