Tons Donated To The 'Stuff The Bus' School Supply Drive
ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - Volunteers are sorting through tons of pencils, notebooks, folders and other items needed to get back to class.
It was all part of the "Stuff the Bus" school supply drive to help the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver.
On Saturday school buses were parked outside Walmart and Sam's Club stores around the metro area.
Some Girl Scouts and other shoppers in Arvada threw a few extra supplies into their baskets. They're helping kids make sure they have what they need to get them through the school year.
"The school supply lists are very long at most of the schools. Most of these are inner city schools, backpacks, to carry their supplies home in," said Tonja Mitchell, Boys and Girls Club program director.
The clubs serve 2,000 children a day.
When making a donation of pens and pencils and markers and backpacks it's helping equip those students for the school year.
