Thursday Marks Pat Bowlen's 72nd Birthday

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Broncos owner Pat Bowlen turned 72-years-old Thursday, Feb. 18.

The Denver Broncos tweeted out the birthday wishes Thursday using the hashtag #HappyBirthdayMrB.

Since Bowlen bought the Broncos 32 years ago, they've been one of the NFL's most successful franchises, winning three of the seven Super Bowls in which they've played.

Even though he was not involved in the team's most recent Super Bowl 50 victory 11 days ago, stepping away less than two years ago due to his battle with Alzheimer's Disease, Bowlen was an inspiration for the team.

Following the team's win, General Manager and former star quarterback John Elway yelled, holding up the Lombardi Trophy, "This one's for Pat!"

This past season, Pat Bowlen was inducted into the Broncos Ring of Fame.
