ThunderRidge High School Dismissed For The Day

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (CBS4)- Students at ThunderRidge High School in Highlands Ranch were dismissed for the day on Thursday after a cleaning machine malfunctioned.

Students and teachers at the high school in the Douglas County School District were initially evacuated during a ventilation process after an automatic floor cleaning machine had what seemed to be a battery issue.

Some students said there were strong fumes coming from inside the school when everyone was evacuated.

Ten people were evaluated and two, one student and one staff member, were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

This early dismissal comes one day before the school district's fall break.

The school will reopen tomorrow during normal school hours if students need to retrieve their belongings.
