Thornton Boy Dies Of Injury Sustained During Fight

THORNTON, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say a Thornton boy died after he suffered a serious throat injury during a fight with two other boys.

Thornton Police Sgt. Matt Kandt says officers were called to the scene of the fight at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday. The victim, whose name and age have not been released, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The other boys had left the scene by the time officers arrived, but they have since been detained. No other details were released.

Kandt did not say how the boy was injured.
