Cherry Creek North Jewelry Store Thieves 'Smashed Display Cases'

DENVER (CBS4) - Four suspects are at large after a popular jewelry store was robbed in Cherry Creek North.

The crime took place late Tuesday morning at Williams Jewelers at East 3rd Avenue and Fillmore Street.

Police believe they found the vehicle the suspects used nearby on Clayton Street.

Police say a woman who acted like she was a customer came inside the store after being buzzed in by employees. In the process she allowed three men inside with her.

The group then robbed the store, taking an undisclosed amount of jewelry after smashing display cases.

The group left the store, got in a red or maroon SUV and then left. The vehicle was found ditched a few blocks away.

Police said they are looking for the four people involved, all of whom were described as being black. The men were allegedly between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall. They had average builds and dark clothes on.
