The 'Peanut Butter Plan' Hands Out Hundreds Of Sandwiches To The Needy

DEBVER (CBS4) - Coloradans are fighting hunger one PBJ at a time.

On Sunday volunteers with the Denver Peanut Butter Plan lined up to make hundreds of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They met at the Hebrew Educational Alliance near Interstate 25 and Hampden Avenue. Then they hit the streets in search of the hungry or homeless.

"The delivery process is fantastic ... 99 out of 100 times we hear the words 'God bless you,' and the people are extremely thankful, and that's the most rewarding part," volunteer Zev Barnett said.

This is the fourth year for the Peanut Butter Plan.
