The Drawing Room Offers Intimate Look In Passport To Paris Exhibit
DENVER (CBS4)- Two of the three exhibits that make up the Passport to Paris exhibit at the Denver Art Museum are bold and colorful. The third, the Drawing Room, is an intimate look at artists' work.
Instead of bold, French art, the Drawing Room is small and quiet with sketches that cap a delightful show.
It's located away from the other exhibits and offers a quiet look at 39 pieces, works on paper from some of the most celebrated French masters of the pen.
The works themselves hold a world of ideas and themes, some simple- some complex- but all fascinating.
For some of the more detailed works visitors will want to use hand magnifiers to bring out those small touches that can easily be lost in the whole of the picture.
There is also a Monet among the sketches which features an impression of his grandfather that he completed when he was just 18 years old.
The sketches are all part of the collection of Dr. Esmond Bradley Martin.
The 'Passport to Paris' Exhibit runs through Feb. 9.
