Texas Man Accused Of Homeless Shelter Assault In Colorado

MYRTLE SPRINGS, Texas (AP) - A North Texas man faces extradition to Colorado on charges that he molested a child at a homeless shelter.

Van Zandt County jail records show 28-year-old Joshua Borth of Wills Point was being held without bond Thursday. Borth was wanted on a warrant from Durango, Colorado, on charges of sexual assault on a child.

Borth had two rifles and camping gear when he was caught Wednesday at an abandoned structure on family property near Myrtle Springs, about 45 miles southeast of Dallas.

His mother, 54-year-old Janie Borth of Wills Point, was being held without bond on a charge of hindering apprehension of a felon. Investigators say she denied knowing her son's whereabouts.
