Telluride Ski Patrol Wins GoPro Award For Avalanche Rescue Dogs Video

TELLURIDE, Colo. (CBS4) - New video shows the hard work of some of Colorado's avalanche rescue dogs.
The video is from the ski patrol team at Telluride Ski Resort. Five dogs are currently certified at the mountain.
"We train quite often with the dogs; it's a game for them. The ski patroler that goes into the dog hole gets buried with a toy; The dog is focused on getting that toy," a member of the ski patrol says in the video. "It just so happens to be attached to a human. That hones in their prey drive and allows them to smell for the human, to find the toy, and dig it up." 1:57
The patrol team submitted the video to GoPro and won an award for it.
