Teen Seriously Beaten During Home Invasion, Robbery In Longmont

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Longmont are searching for two suspects in a home invasion, assault and robbery that left a teen with serious injuries.

According to Cmdr. Jeff Satur with Longmont police, the incident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. in the 1200 block of Atwood Street but police didn't get a call until 7:30 a.m. when the victim was in the hospital.

Satur said two men dressed in all black broke into a residence and beat a 19-year-old male who lives alone.

No race or further description of the suspects were released.

The victim has serious injuries, including facial fractures and a laceration on his skull after he was beaten with an iron fire poker. Two vehicles, cash and marijuana were stolen.

A 1997 orange Ford Econoline van that was stolen was later recovered by police in the 1700 block of Antero Drive.

The other stolen vehicle is described as a 2001 red four-door Jeep Cherokee with Colorado plates 917-YYH.

Satur said he doesn't believe the crime was random.
