BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4) - A teen driver has pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in a car crash that killed a teenager more than a year ago.

The crash happened in November of 2014 just outside Broomfield High School. Sixteen-year-old Chad Britton was killed when another teen crashed into him while Britton was getting into his car.

Prosecutors say the driver, who was 17 at the time, smoked marijuana before the crash. His name hasn't been released because he was charged as a juvenile.

The teen driver is scheduled to be sentenced on April 8.
