Teen Charged In Crash That Injured Pregnant Woman

THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4)- The teenage driver accused of crashing into a pregnant woman, causing her to lose her unborn baby, will face charges in connection with the crash.

Two vehicles collided at the intersection of 138th and Holly Street on February 18. One of the cars went onto the sidewalk, striking two women and a 1½ year old boy who was being pushed in a stroller.

Leah Montgomery, 33, was walking with her mother and toddler in a stroller near the intersection when a vehicle driven by the teenager, 16, collided with another vehicle and then struck them.

Montgomery, who was 22 weeks pregnant, lost her unborn baby.

The teen has been charged with careless driving resulting in unlawful termination of pregnancy and three counts of careless driving, one for each of the pedestrians.
