AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A teacher in Aurora received the surprise of a lifetime when she was presented with a prestigious award for her work in the classroom.

Third grade teacher Jennie Schmaltz had no idea what she was walking into during the school assembly on Wednesday morning. She was handed a $25,000 check in what is considered the "Oscar" of teaching awards-- the Milkin Educator Award.
