BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - The CU Buffaloes men's basketball team is less than three weeks away from its season opener and Coach Tad Boyle says his team is already overrated.

The Buffs were picked to finish fifth in the Pac-12 in a recent analysis, and in typical coaching style, Boyle is making sure his players don't get a big head.

"Those of you who have followed this team and this program know we do have some pretty talented guys in uniform this year, but right now if I had to describe our team in one word it would be overrated," Boyle said at CU's media day on Tuesday.

The Buffs have got their sights set on not just making the NCAA Tournament, but also making a run in the tournament. CU hasn't made it to the second round of the tournament since 2012.

"We all want to get better. And for us to get better, to make that next step, it's not easy. And it's not going to be given to us, it's not going to be handed to us, it's not going to be tweeted to us. We're going to have to go out and earn that," Boyle said.
