SWAT Teams Respond To Reports Of Shots Fired In Northeast Denver

DENVER (CBS4) – SWAT teams responded during what police called an active shooter situation in northeast Denver Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred at 48th Avenue and Washington Street just after 3:30 a.m. Police set up a perimeter between 47th and 50th and Washington for the investigation.

Officers arrived at the scene because of a shots fired call and also heard shots. As a precaution they called for a SWAT team.

A Denver Police Department spokesperson told CBS4 they didn't think the public was in danger because they didn't find any shooting victims.

No suspects are in custody.

The scene was cleared around 6:30 a.m.
