SUV Driver Who Crashed Into Marczyks Identified
DENVER (CBS4) - The man who drove an SUV into Marczyks Fine Foods on Colfax Avenue Tuesday afternoon has been identified.
Marcus Martinez was taken into custody after he drove into the store.
Police believe Martinez was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of the crash. He was arrested for DUID.
Investigators say Martinez left the roadway while driving in the eastbound lanes of Colfax Avenue at Fairfax and struck a power pole before crashing into the store.
Two employees inside narrowly escaped injury but were showered in shattered glass. No one was hurt even though the store had a lot of customers inside.
The store was expected to reopen on Thursday.
