Suspects Wreck Vehicle, Steal Another While Fleeing From Police

AURORA, Colo. (AP) - Police say two people wrecked a stolen vehicle and then stole another while fleeing police in Cherry Creek State Park.

Authorities said in a statement they spotted two people in a stolen car at a convenience store on Sunday and began to follow them.

Police say the vehicle took off and crashed through the gates of Cherry Creek State Park while police were tracking the car. Police say the suspects abandoned the wrecked car and stole another vehicle.

During the incident an Englewood police officer rolled his vehicle in a separate accident. Authorities say the officer was not injured.
