Suspect With Knife Carjacks 2 Women, Runs Into Patrol Car

DENVER (CBS4) - A suspect is on the run after holding two women up with a knife and hitting a Denver police patrol vehicle with the stolen car.

It began at the Burger King on Kalamath Street at West Colfax Avenue. At approximately 8:30 p.m. Monday, two young women went back to their car in a parking lot beside the restaurant and were told by a man holding a knife to give him their keys.

When Denver police arrived on scene, the two women told them of the carjacking that had just occurred. Officers were able to approach the suspect and carjacked vehicle on foot, but the suspect reversed the vehicle into a patrol car then fled.

He was pursued for several blocks but the white Kia Soul has not been spotted since. It was last seen going south on Kalamath, and has Texas plates GHY9478. Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call police.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-30s with a shaved head.

An ambulance was on scene but it's unclear if the women were injured.
