Suspect In Xenia Double Homicide Formally Charged

DENVER (CBS4) - A man being held in connection with two murders at 14th Avenue and Xenia Street in early January has been formally charged.

Jamaal Marquiz Edwards, 29, is accused of killing James Clyde Brown III, 42, and John Shoeboot, 53, both Denver residents. Brown III was transported by ambulance from 1425 Xenia St, while Shoeboot was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims were found at the Xenia Village Apartments, which are run by the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. Residents in the area said many of the people who live there are homeless and trying to get back on their feet.
