Suspect Identified In Kidnapping That Led To Shooting

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4)- The Boulder County Sheriff's Office released more details about those involved in a kidnapping that led to the deadly shooting of the suspect.

On April 22, deputies with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office rushed to the Doudy Draw Trailhead located at 4100 Eldorado Springs Drive in Boulder County.

When they arrived, they found Lue Vang holding a gun to the head of William Lor, 65, Vang's father-in-law. Also in the car was Vang Lor, 24, Vang's brother-in-law.

Despite repeated attempts to talk to Vang, 39, deputies said he continued to threaten William Lor's life. That's when Deputy Brunkow shot and killed Vang.

Before the shooting, Vang had gone to the Lor's home in Westminster in the 10100 block of Benton Street where he went with William Lor and Vang Lor to change the title of a vehicle.

After completing the paperwork, Vang took the men against their will to the trailhead. That's when William told investigators Vang threatened his life and held a gun to his head.

Although Vang was married to William Lor's daughter, he and his wife had since become estranged.
