Suspect Driver In Court After Crashing SUV Into Optics Store

DENVER (CBS4)- The man accused of crashing his SUV into an optics business and injuring himself and four others has been formally advised of the charges against him.

Ryan Nuanez appeared before a judge Friday morning where he was formally advised of charges including vehicular assault, driving under the influence of drugs and driving under revocation.

The charges allege that on Saturday, Nuanez, 24, was driving northbound on S. Colorado Boulevard when he crossed over the southbound lanes and struck a building in the 2800 block of S. Colorado Boulevard that housed Accent Optics.

Nuanez injured three people inside the optics business, a man and three women.

He remains in custody at the Denver Jail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 5 at 8:30 a.m.
