Survivor Of Van-Train Crash Will Live With Cousins

TRINIDAD, Colo. (AP) — The 4-year-old Colorado girl who survived a crash with an Amtrak train that killed her parents and three sisters will remain in her community and be raised with her cousins.

Heidi Miller will live with her late mother's sister and her husband and their children in the Trinidad area after she is released from the hospital.

The news was posted on a fundraising site Thursday.

Grandfather Andrew Miller told The Associated Press Friday that members of the extended family have been taking turns being with Heidi Miller in the hospital and agreed she should live with her aunt and uncle, who plan to adopt her. They have two sons and a daughter.

The Millers were on their way to church June 26 when their minivan collided with the Southwest Chief at a marked but ungated crossing.
