Summer Snow Possible Tonight On Peaks Near Aspen, Vail

DENVER (CBS4) - Another push of cool, Canadian air will move into Colorado by Tuesday night and it will combine with a surge of deep moisture sitting over the southwest.

The result will be the potential for heavy rain in southwest Colorado and even some snow showers on the peaks above 12,000 feet late tonight and early Wednesday in the central and southern mountains.

Over the past few weeks we've seen scattered reports of high mountain snow, including on the peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains early Tuesday morning.

The best chance for high elevation snow showers over the next 24 hours will be south of Interstate 70.
