Study: National Park Visits In Colorado Generate Big Economic Benefits

DENVER (CBS4) - Every dollar invested in Colorado's national parks generates $10 in return. That's the finding of a survey looking at 2012 tourism numbers.

The National Park Service report says park tourism across the country created more than $347 million in economic benefits.

It also says the visitors to the parks in Colorado, including Rocky Mountain National Park, Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and Mesa Verde National Park help fund 5,000 jobs.
