Study: Colorado Drivers Texting, Drinking

DENVER (CBS4)- A new study shows that drivers in Colorado are engaging in reckless behavior while behind the wheel.

The Colorado Department of Transportation gathered the data in November of last year.

Researchers found almost a quarter of people say they read a text, email or social post on their phones while driving. That is illegal in Colorado.

The study also shows that nearly 40 percent of drivers admit to getting behind the wheel within two hours of drinking alcohol.
