Students Head Back To Class In Denver Public Schools
DENVER (CBS4) - Students went back to class on Monday at Denver Public Schools - meaning most of the major districts in the state are now back in session.
In the morning Mayor Michael Hancock and Superintendent Tom Boasberg welcomed the kids at Brown International Academy.
Boasberg said Brown Academy is just one example of Denver's many efforts to turn around the district.
"We are now the fastest growing school district in any city in the country here in the Denver Public Schools as a result of the extraordinary increase in the quality of our schools and thanks to the teachers -- extraordinary teachers -- and our school leaders," Boasberg said.

Boasberg said Brown Academy didn't have close to its capacity for students a few years ago. Now it has added extra classrooms to accommodate more students, specifically preschoolers.
