Police In Boulder Hold News Conference To Discuss Shelter-In-Place Order Following Evacuation Of School, Buildings

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - A shelter-in-place order was in effect in a small area of Boulder near University Hill on Tuesday due to a police operation involving a wanted person. Police announced they were going to hold a news conference early Tuesday afternoon to discuss the situation.

As a result of the police activity, which started sometime before 9 a.m., all of the 500 or so students at University Hills Elementary School were evacuated in the morning hours.

They were taken in school buses to the Boulder Valley Education Center where parents were instructed to pick them up.

Sometime later, police announced that they were evacuating "buildings immediately adjacent to 955 Broadway/Uni Hill Elementary area." That included fraternity and sorority buildings.
