'Strides For Epilepsy' Helps Fund Efforts To Find A Cure

DENVER (CBS4)- Some 2,000 runners hit the streets on Sunday for the 11th annual Strides for Epilepsy 5K.

Epilepsy impacts 50,000 people who live in Colorado.

The runners made their way through City Park to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation in Colorado. The non-profit is the leading the fight to stop seizures and find a cure for the condition.

CBS4's Tom Mustin ran the race and also introduced rock legend Richie Furay and his band. Guitarist Scott Sellen and his son Aaron are in the band. Aaron's son, Clive, has epilepsy and the race holds special meaning for them.

The run raised $175,000 for people living with epilepsy.
