Storm Allows Ski Patrol To Test Slopes At Silverton Mountain
DENVER (CBS4) - A storm spinning over Arizona was bringing much needed moisture to Colorado on Tuesday, including some snow in the mountains.
Since Monday night there has been enough snow in the highest elevations of the San Juan Mountains to allow some people to hit the slopes.
Jen Brill, with Silverton Mountian, said a few members of their ski patrol were able to test the slopes above 13,000 feet Tuesday morning.
CBS4's Doppler 4000 showed snow in the higher elevations of southwest Colorado Monday night and early Tuesday.
The National Weather Service in Grand Junction said the snow level briefly dipped below 10,000 feet Monday night when their Silverton weather observer reported 0.2 inches of snow at 9,278 feet.
Telluride is also reporting their first significant snow of the season.
