Stolen Fort Collins Police Rifles Found, 2 Suspects Arrested

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)- Investigators in Fort Collins have found stolen police rifles and arrested two suspects in connection with the case.

The rifles were stolen from locked police cars in Fort Collins along with other police gear.

The other police gear has been recovered.

Police have arrested two suspects, Wesley Sartin of Denver and Carlos Chavez.

Chavez was arrested last week in Englewood. Police believe he broke into the cars and defeated the lock system where the rifles were being kept. Police say he accidentally left a debit card behind that had his name on it.

Police won't say how they tracked down Sartin but did confirm he was arrested in Thornton. Both men face charges of criminal trespassing and theft.
