Stabbing In Longmont Leaves 1 Dead, 2 In Hospital

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) – One person is dead and two others are in the hospital after being stabbed at a party in Longmont early Sunday morning.

According to police around 20 youth between the ages of 16 through 21 were attending a party at 712 Francis Street.

Some were consuming marijuana and alcohol. The parents of the youth hosting the party were out of state.

"There were about 20 kids in the house," said Longmont police spokesman Jeff Satur. "They were smoking marijuana, drinking."

As the party progressed, police say an argument broke out and moved outside. Several of the victims began fighting and three people were stabbed.

Two victims aged 17 and 18 were transported to the Longmont United Hospital. The third victim aged 19 died at the scene.

The two victims at the hospital are in serious condition. All three victims are from Lafayette.

Police arrested 20-year-old suspect Secudino Martinez at a Walmart at around 3:48 a.m after he allegedly fled the scene on foot.

He is currently being held at Boulder County Jail on one count of 1st degree murder and two counts of attempted 1st degree murder.

Authorities have not released the names of the victims.
