Springs NAACP Officials Attend Brown Funeral

DENVER (AP) - The president of the Colorado Springs branch of the NAACP were among the thousands of people who turned out to say goodbye to Michael Brown, the Missouri teenager shot and killed earlier this month by a police officer.

Henry Allen as well as fellow NAACP officials Jerome Ford and Redditt Hudson were in St. Louis for Monday's funeral.

Allen told the Gazette they planned to deliver eight pages of signatures, condolence notes and prayers from a candlelight vigil held in Colorado Springs.

Meanwhile, students at the University of Colorado in Boulder plan to hold a candlelight vigil for Brown on campus Monday evening.
