Springs Homeowner Not Discouraged After House Burns To The Ground

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CB4) - A fire destroyed a home in Colorado Springs Thursday night.

The family says the flames shot more than 70 feet into the air and burned the house to the ground in minutes.

By the time fire crews arrived it was too late to save anything, but the owners are not discouraged.

"The perspective it grants us is quite grand. I could have a house full of stuff, or I could have a beautiful, loving, caring wife by my side," homeowner David Soyka said. "If it comes down to it, the things that aren't really important in your life, they can go up in smoke and you're going to be fine with it."

Nobody was hurt in the fire.
