Spring Snow Surprises Some Estes Park Visitors

ESTES PARK, Colo. (CBS4)- The spring snowstorm was a surprise to some people visiting Estes Park on Thursday.

Some visitors described the conditions as a winter wonderland. In downtown Estes Park the scenery looked more mid-winter than early spring.

People visiting Rocky Mountain National Park were forced to bundle up. Some forgoing hiking to do some shopping in Estes Park.

One group from Denver said they had hoped to spend their spring break enjoying sunshine in the mountains. Instead, they had to do some last-minute packing.

"I had just packed up all of my winter clothes the day before and then I checked the weather right before we left for vacation and I had to undo that entire box but, that's Colorado for you, right? That's Colorado right there, exactly," said Denver resident Nellie Stagg.
