Spring Snow Extends Season At Colorado Ski Areas

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Good news for skiers and boarders-- several ski areas are extending their seasons thanks to fresh spring snow.

Aspen announced on Thursday the chair lifts will stay open two additional weekends, April 26 and 27 and May 3 and 4.

Copper Mountain will stay open for an additional weekend April 25- 27 after closing April 20.

Breckenridge also added an extra week with a closing date of April 27.

Winter Park is extending its season from April 20 to April 27.

The following ski areas will close April 6: Buttermilk, Crested Butte, Ski Cooper, Ski Granby Ranch, Telluride and Wolf Creek.

Monarch will close April 9.

Aspen Highlands, Steamboat, Silverton and Eldora will close April 13.

Aspen Mountain, Snowmass, Vail, Keystone and Beaver Creek will close April 20.

Loveland Ski Area will close May 4.

Arapahoe Basin has not announced a closing date. They typically stay open until June or even longer depending on the conditions.
