Snow Continues, Some Difficult Travel Overnight

DENVER (CBS4) - It's a soggy and chilly night across Colorado as a Pacific storm system crosses the state. Snow is expected to gradually decrease from north to south as we head into the overnight hours.

The Denver metro area remains under a winter weather advisory until 2 a.m. for 2 to 6 inches of snow. A winter storm warning continues for portions of the high country until 5 a.m. for up to 16 inches of snow.

Travel has been difficult much of the day in the foothills and mountains west of Denver and that will be the case into the overnight hours. Black ice is possible on Denver area roads overnight, especially on bridges and overpasses.

Travel conditions will improve Saturday as warmer and drier weather moves back into the region.
