Witnesses Sought In Fatal Collision At Breckenridge Ski Resort

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (AP) - Authorities in Colorado are looking for witnesses to a collision that led to the death of a New Jersey man.

Forty-three-year-old John Sherwood of Randolph died Monday after the collision on an expert trail at the Breckenridge Ski Resort. The resort said ski patrollers provided emergency care but Sherwood, who was on vacation with his family, died at the hospital.

The Summit County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday asked anyone who witnessed the crash on the Tiger double black diamond run to contact investigators. It happened around noon under the Peak 8 chairlift.

The death has been ruled an accident. The coroner says Sherwood died as a result of the collision but that an autopsy would determine an exact cause of death.

Breckenridge issued a statement extending its condolences.
