Ski Train Returns As Amtrak Winter Park Express

WINTER PARK, Colo. (CBS4)- The ski train will resume passenger service to Winter Park from Denver's Union Station just after the new year.
The train is called the Amtrak Winter Park Express and just like the old ski train, it will stop at the base of the ski resort.
Winter Park and Amtrak will announce more details about the ski train on Thursday. The train will run weekends between January and March 2017.
The train ferried skiers 62 miles to and from the resort every season from 1940 to 2009, when then-owner Philip Anschutz shut it down because of costs.
The ski train returned for a one-weekend trip in March 2015 where all 400 tickets were sold.
