Sketch Of Edgewater Kidnapping Suspect Released
EDGEWATER, Colo. (CBS4) - Police have released a sketch of the suspect in Wednesday night's kidnapping at knifepoint of a 16-year-old Lakewood girl.
Edgewater police describe the suspect as an African-American man in his 30s or 40s with facial hair. He's either bald or has short-cropped hair and was wearing a brown or green white-striped, short-sleeved shirt and dark pants. He was driving a late model blue or black truck with chrome stripes and orange lights on top.
The kidnapping occurred at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when the victim accepted a ride home from the suspect near a bus stop at 35th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard. But rather than taking her home, he drove to an alley several blocks away, bound her wrists and headed east across the metro area to Aurora.

About an hour later, she managed to escape by freeing her hands, picking up the knife from the car's floorboards and stabbing him in the shoulder and rib cage. Police said she then fled the car on foot while they were on Interstate 225 and escaped through a hole in the highway's sound wall.
At a nearby home, residents alerted Aurora police, who responded at 10:12 p.m.
