Sinkhole Repair Effort Forces Full Closure Of Simms In Jeffco
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Crews are getting to work on filling a sinkhole that has caused problems on Simms Street for almost three weeks now.
The sinkhole, located between Cooper Avenue and South Ward Street just south of Coal Mine Road, is 20 feet by 20 feet and it appears a large drainage culvert under the street gave way.
The road was fully closed at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning to traffic. Only some lanes of the road had been closed up to this point.
These's no estimate so far for when the road will reopen to traffic.
