Single Engine Airplane Crashes In Field Near Boulder

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- The pilot of a small plane walked away seemingly unharmed after crashing near Boulder on Wednesday afternoon.

The plane went down just before 3 p.m. in a field near the Pleasant View Soccer Fields at 3805 47th Street in Boulder. The field is adjacent to the City of Boulder.

The pilot landed the plane on its belly. The pilot exited the plane and was seen walking around the wreckage. He was taken to a local hospital.

There were no known injuries to anyone on the ground.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office is teaming up with the Federal Aviation Administration to investigate the off-field landing of the single engine airplane. What caused the plane to crash is being investigated.

FAA officials said the plane was a Piper PA-25.
