Simon Brings Heavy Rain, Snow To Colorado

DENVER (AP) — Heavy rain is causing some street flooding in Colorado Springs while snow has shut down Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Simon are responsible for Thursday's precipitation. The rain is expected to be heaviest from Monument south to the New Mexico line and southwestern Colorado, where flash flood warnings and watches have been posted.

Higher mountain passes, including Vail and Red Mountain, are expected to get several inches of snow by Friday morning.
